Economic analysis of using the BD Single-Use Digital Flexible Ureteroscope in selective situations compared to universal use of a reusable flexible ureteroscope in the treatment of urolithiasis.
The objective is to conduct an analysis of costs associated with the repair of reusable ureteroscopes used for all renal stone cases compared to a hybrid approach. In the hybrid approach, the BD Single-Use Digital Flexible Ureteroscope is used selectively for some percentage of cases.
Inputs include: the number of flexible ureteroscopy cases performed per year, the total annual cost to repair the organization's reusable flexible ureteroscopes, the percentage of high-risk-of-scope-damage cases that that organization sees, the expected percentage of the organization's total annual repair costs that are likely associated with those high-risk-of-scope-damage cases, and the acquisition cost of the BD Single-Use Digital Flexible Ureteroscope.
Result of the analysis includes the net incremental economic impact per year of employing the BD Single-Use Digital Flexible Ureteroscope selectively for certain high-risk-of-scope-damage ureteroscopy cases.
